🍀🏆 First meet of the season = DONE!

Round of applause for everyone who competed last weekend at the Hokie Track Invitational and for our volunteers! The weather was much better than last year (thank goodness). For the complete results, click here.

There are several new club records to report:

• Anna Rigby, Women’s 5000m: 17:44

• Shannon Fisher, Women’s Shot Put: 9.82m

• Leanne Villante, Women’s Discus: 35.20m

• Zangar Smith, Men’s Discus: 41.04m

In an extremely unpredictable turn of events, both our women and men’s teams won! The women’s team scored 387 points, followed by UGA with 78 points and UNC Charlotte with 4 points. The men’s team scored 464 points, UGA scored 47 points, and the Georgia Knights scored 27 points.

✅ Prior Performance/Automark Form for Nationals

The following events require a performance before Nationals:

• Shot put 

• Discus

• Triple jump

• Steeplechase (any hurdle event counts as a prior performance)

The link to the form can be found here and must be completed by March 29.

📚 NIRCA Eligibility Waiver

If you are interested in attending Nationals, fill out the NIRCA Eligibility Waiver at practice! NIRCA requires athletes to be in good academic standing, so this form serves as proof that you are a competent student AND athlete. You should have completed the form by now, so please speak to Roman if you still need to sign it! It is not a binding document. Signing it is not a commitment to compete.

🏀 March Madness Begins!

We are having our first-ever club March Madness bracket pool contest! Making your picks based on mascots or team colors is completely valid, and often leads to high rates of success. We are using the ESPN website/app for the brackets and you can complete both brackets now. The deadline to complete your brackets are this Thursday and Friday at 11:30 AM for the men’s and women’s tournament respectively. 🥄 Assassin Has Begun!

💙🐶 Bluey Watch Party & Crafts Social

On Friday, March 29, we will watch Bluey together as we make bracelets and posters for Nationals. We have not decided on a time for this social, and we want your input! Please fill out this form so we can choose a time that you all are available.
